We are getting stocked up and ready to bring some delicious goodies to our last Chappaqua market of the season. I am so grateful to all of our hearty shoppers, vendors and market directors and volunteers for pushing the market "season" in Chappaqua for a little while longer! I look forward to the late Spring when I can join this market again, but hope to see many of you in Hastings and Irvington over the winter! See below for my Winter Market Schedule!

Without further ado, my selections for the week, which include a few new items!

This week's SOUP offerings are hearty and, as always, packed with good nutrition

to help you forget that it's cold outside, or to fill you up to get you out the door

and into nature!

THAI CURRY COCONUT CAULIFLOWER

A simple cauliflower soup flavored with a delicious homemade Thai curry paste!

Soothing and exotic!

Cauliflower, Yukon Gold Potatoes, Coconut Milk, Ginger, Garlic, Thai Curry Paste, Sea Salt

Thai Curry Paste: Lemongrass, Ginger, Scallion, Garlic, Turmeric, Curry Powder,

Serrano Chile, Coconut Oil

FARRO, BACON + VEGETABLE

I have had several requests to bring back the Farro! I love Farro for it's high protein content, and how it combines so well with all of the

vegetables and herbs (oh, and bacon!)

Comforting and nutritious, it makes a perfect light dinner, or hearty post-Market lunch!

Farro, Shiitake Mushrooms, Carrots, Sweet Potatoes, Bacon, Rosemary, Thyme, Homemade Vegetable Stock, Sea Salt

Dairy Free

MOROCCAN SPICED LAMB with CHICKPEAS + KALE

Always a favorite, this hearty soup combines delicious Middle Eastern spices with comforting ground lamb and chickpeas in a tomato & vegetable stock base.

Ground Lamb, Chickpeas, Kale, Diced Tomatoes, Homemade Vegetable Stock, Coriander, Cumin, Thyme, Oregano, Smoked Paprika, Aleppo Pepper, Sea Salt

Dairy Free, Gluten Free

WHITE BEAN, ESCAROLE + PARMESAN

This is, for me, a true bowl of comfort. Simply prepared with small white beans, escarole, Parmesan cheese rinds and homemade vegetable stock, it always amazes me how flavorful it is when all these ingredients combine!

White Beans, Escarole, Garlic, Onion, Thyme, Parmesan Cheese Rinds, Homemade Vegetable Stock

Gluten Free

IMMUNITY BOOSTER BROTH

I'm bringing my vegan version of the Immunity Broth this week. I have been developing this recipe for some time now, and I am always so surprised how it keeps evolving and deepening. The vegetables and roots in this broth are full of vitamins and minerals to help bolster our immune systems during these cold months... Add the slight spice from ginger, turmeric and black pepper, and the herbal undertones...

mmmmm I could drink this all day!

Japanese Yams, Shiitake Mushrooms, Dried Kelp, Ginger, Turmeric, Carrots, Onions, Fennel, Garlic, Parsley, Burdock Root, Bay Leaf, Sea Salt

Vegan, Dairy Free, Gluten Free

Drumroll please......

A few other items coming along with me this week, as I continue to explore different products to help you elevate your next home cooked meal!

ALEPPO CITRUS SEA SALT

I love to sprinkle this on eggs and avocado in the morning, or to add to roasted veggies when the come out of the oven -- Brussels Sprouts, anyone?! The dark red Aleppo Pepper from Turkey has a sweetly spicy flavor to it, and it combines beautifully with flaky French Sea Salt. The addition of dried citrus makes it sing!

4 oz/$10

SAVORY SEA SALT SPICE RUB

A delicious mix of spices and Pink Himalayan Sea Salt that can be used on roasted or grilled meats, or used to flavor soups and stews!

2 oz/$8

TIPSY CHERRIES

These were first created when I worked at The Mill as a garnish for our "Make Your Own Old Fashioned" menu. Soaked in a spiced Amaretto, these cherries are a perfect cocktail garnish, or great on ice cream!!

4 oz/$10

All items are available on my site for PRE ORDER!

Bundle up, and I look forward to seeing you at the market!!

WINTER MARKET SCHEDULE!!

Our wise Farmers Market Board has moved us to Sunday! See you there! 9:30 am -1 pm. Enjoy a rainy day today -- play a game, watch a movie, cook at home! I am planning on all three. See you tomorrow!

j

In such uncertain times, it's comforting to know that some things that help us "normalize" will continue. While it might be cold outside, the farmers markets never fail to enliven and warm us with the community energy they create. The selection of locally produced goods will continue to inspire us to treat ourselves and each other well! I, for one, am very excited to be able to share my soups with you all winter long! We have some new products to elevate your home meals in the pipeline, too, stay tuned!

The market in Hastings will continue at it's outdoor location at the commuter parking lot across from Metro North. I am very excited to have one more market this year on 12/12 in Chappaqua, and to bring my hand made products to share in Irvington starting in January! The market hours are 9:30 am - 1 pm at all markets.

BASQUE STYLE CHICKEN

This is a throwback to the many Basque style dishes I learned about and created at Savoy in SoHo late 1990's. I adore the flavors in this dish, the olives, roasted peppers, long-cooked chicken and homemade broth... So satisfying!

CHICKEN BONE IMMUNITY BROTH

As I continue to develop this recipe, I am so in awe of how it keeps getting better! Add the slight spice from ginger, turmeric and black pepper, and the herbal undertones...
